International Research Foundation for RSD/CRPS

Guidelines for Research Participation in a Foreign Country

Unfortunately, there is no cure for RSD/CRPS as yet and that is the reason the International Research Foundation on RSD/CRPS has been established. The Foundation is committed to raising funds to support clinical investigations anywhere in the world that show promise of curing this dreaded disease.

The Foundation does not intend to directly conduct such an investigation or project. Based upon recommendations received from members of the Foundation’s Scientific Advisory Committee, the Foundation will select clinical investigations and research projects that the Foundation believes are promising and in need of funding.

Although the Foundation is willing to assist research projects conducted worldwide, a study or project will not receive funding from the Foundation unless one or more physicians of a United States university hospital, medical research organization or medical school is a co-investigator of such study or project. The Foundation intends to donate funds directly to such hospital, medical research organization or medical school (instead of directly to the researchers). The United States medical institution may then apply such donated funds to the study or research project as the university and its physician serving as co-investigator of the study or project deems appropriate. The Foundation also intends to disclose the results of any such study or project to the extent the Foundation is permitted to do so by the researchers.
